Share farming opportunity with us

Interested in farming with us at Cow Hall?

We are looking for a new farming partner to join us in our business here since our current share farmers, Chris and Lynn, are moving on next year. This opportunity would suit potential young farmers wanting to get on the farming ladder, particularly someone with great stockmanship skills and an interest in wildlife conservation.

About Cow Hall Organic Farm

Cow Hall is a 160 acre mixed farm in the Clun Forest, Shropshire, run by Joy and Mark Measures with farm partners Lynn and Chris Parker and farmed to Soil Association www.soilassociation.org organic standards since 1998.   Farmed by 6 generations of the same family since the 1800s, agro-chemicals have never been used over most of the farm. Much of the farm is a registered County Wildlife Site because of the exceptionally rare hay meadows and species-rich permanent pastures.

We produce breeding cattle and top-quality meat from local breeds of cattle and sheep.  The herd of 25 pedigree Traditional Herefords – now recognized as a rare breed – was established in 1935. In 2025 it was awarded Traditional Hereford (large) Herd of the Year.
